CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
Lighted Sign Cabinets are the most common type of internally illuminated signage.
These lighted signs have all aluminum construction
and use fluorescent lamps for the illumination source. Capable
of being either single or double sided, these lighted signs
can be mounted in a variety of ways. Internally illuminated
lighted sign cabinets are kind of like a huge, custom
built lamp. Each lighted sign has numerous sockets and ballasts,
wires and connectors. These components work in concert with
one another to create an illuminated sign of the proper
brightness, evenly lit, built to the necessary safety and
electrical requirements.

SHAPES AND SIZES
These signs can be made to exact
dimensions and can be in just about any shape. However, the
most common types are usually rectangular and have dimensions
of exact feet. This is due to the fact that many sign faces,
the plastic that the graphics go on, come in standard sizes,
ending on the even feet height and length. Custom sizing costs
more because special-purpose lamps and wiring schemes as well
as custom cut faces and cabinet components all have to be
procured. A rectangular sign cabinet is usually your best
value when it comes to Lighted Sign Cabinets.
UL LISTED
Every Lighted Cabinet Sign SignsByWeb makes is built to UL standards. Most sign companies
offer UL listed construction as a premium option with premium
option pricing. Nearly every zoning department in nearly every
county requires UL Listed signs, and for good reason. Illuminated
signs have many custom built electrical connections. SignsByWeb builds highest-quality internally illuminated
signs.
MOUNTING OPTIONS
These signs can be mounted in a variety of ways. These signs
can be mounted onto walls, or sides of buildings they can
be perched on a single pole or between two poles if needed
or desired. Lighted Cabinet Signs can also be ground mounted.
Ground mounting can be of several flavors as well: brick base,
metal skirt, custom base, etc. Lighted Cabinets can also be
mounted perpendicularly to the wall or structure it is being
mounted to. However, such projecting signs, as they are called,
are not allowed in some cities or districts.
TYPES OF FACES
The face of a Lighted Cabinet Sign
can be one of three types: flat, pan, or embossed. Flat faces
are the most common type. These faces remain flush with the
front most part of the metal cabinet itself. Pan faces flare
out, usually two inches or so, from the edges of the sign
face. These faces give the sign a much more appealing, architectural
look. Pan faces make a Lighted Cabinet Sign look more professional
than a flat faced sign. The third type of face, embossed,
starts with a pan face and further extrudes selected areas
of the sign face a half inch or so. These faces are the best
option for these type of signs. They simply look great. However,
due to the custom extrusion of logos or letterforms, embossed
faces are also more expensive than the other two types of
sign faces.
