Frequently Asked Questions
Our dimensional
letters are of the highest quality, guaranteed for life and
are easy to install. We have put the following information
together to answer some frequently asked questions about dimensional
letters. If you have any additional questions, need more assistance
or would like to place your order, call us toll free at 1-800-416-8380.
LIFETIME
GUARANTEE
Question:
"What is meant by Lifetime Guarantee"
Answer:
Dimensional letters are guaranteed for life. This means that
shoud a letter fade, break or contain any defect, we will
refinish or replace the defective materials at no cost to
you, as long as the letters are installed on their original
location.
LINE
LENGTHS
Question:
"What size letters will fit in a given area?"
Answer:
The best way to estimate a line length (length of a given
copy) is to use the height, width and stroke of the letter
styels, as listed in the pricing area. Add the average stroke
plus the average width of the letter style and size. This
gives you the average width of your average letter with spacing.
Then multiply that number times the number of letters in your
copy to get a ballpark estimate of the length of copy.
Example:
12" helvetica formed plastic letters are around 12"
wide with spacing. So if you had ten letters, your line length
would be around ten feet long.
Should
you need a more exact line length, you can request a custom
sketch be prepared that fits your requirements.
LEAD
TIMES
Question:
"How long does it take to get my order?"
Answer:
Lead times, or the days needed for production, vary by letter
product. Generally, formed plastic lettes take around 2-4
days to make, injection molded around one or two days, and
cast, cut metal or metal plaques take around ten days. Should
you have any specific lead time questions, please call us
at 1-800-416-8380, as we pride ourselves on having the best
lead times in the industry.
SHIP
VIA
Question:
"How will my order be delivered?"
Answer:
Most orders will ship via UPS or FedEx ground. It is your
option to ship via air freight if you need your order sooner,
for an additional cost. Many overnight, 2 day, and 3 day options
are available. Larger letters over 30" may have to ship
via truck freight.
PATTERNS
Question:
"What do you charge for mounting or installation patterns?"
Answer:
Mounting patterns cost $.025 per upright inch in letter height,
with a $3.00 maximum cost per letter. Patterns are not sent
with orders unless ordered. All stud mounted letters or combination
mounted letters will require some type of drilling template
to install, and therefore we strongly recommend a mounting
pattern for these types of installations.
INSTALLATION
Question:
"How do I avoid common installation problems?"
Answer:
- Center and level template on mounting surface.
- Clean surface thoroughly before using silicone.
- Blow all debris from holes after drilling (stud or combination
mount).
- Check letter orientation to avoid upside down characters.
- Make sure number on back of each letter matches positioning
on template.
- Us only top quality materials (silicone, tape, etc.)
Question:
"What is the difference between a spacing tape and mounting
pattern? "
Answer:
Spacing tapes are used to roughly show proper spacing for
pad mounting letters. Mounting patterns have exact hole locations
punched ini kraft paper to provide a guide for drilling holes
for stud mount or combination installations.
RETURN
POLICY
Question:
"What is your return policy"
Answer:
Most dimensional letter products are custom made to order
for specific customers. But as a service to you, we will offer
a credit up to 50% of the original sale price.
